Dr. Scarborough attended the Medical College of Virginia, the VCU School of Dentistry, where he graduated summa cum laude. He then was accepted to the nationally recognized VCU Orthodontic Residency Program here in Richmond, where he received an additional two years of specialized orthodontic training. Dr. Scarborough has been recognized by Richmond Magazine as a “Top Orthodontist” the last three years running and has received numerous accolades leadership skills and his community involvement.
Dr. Scarborough and his family have lived in Richmond for the past 14 years and are very excited to be a part of the RVA community. He is a dedicated husband and father and in his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife, Emily, and their two kids Jackson and Sophia. If you’re out and about in Richmond it is likely you’ll run into Dr. Scarborough, he and his family like to support the local restaurants, musicians, and charities.
Kristin is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where she earned her B.B.A from the School of Business in 2011. Kristin worked in the financial services industry after college for two years before she discovered her passion for the smiles, science, and orthodontics. She has been a part of the JRO family since November 2013 and has loved every moment.
When she is away from work, she loves spending time with her husband and her two huskies, Kaylee and Nyla. She also loves watching movies, finding new and exciting restaurants and spending time at her family’s river house, her favorite place!
Certified Orthodontic Assistant & Clinical Coordinator
Saurah started assisting Dr. Scarborough in January of 2012 and has recently become our Clinical Coordinator. She is very passionate about orthodontics and continuously strives to create a family environment at our practice by building strong relationships with evey JRO patient. Not only is she CPR and X-ray certified—she also became a certified orthodontic assistant through the American Association of Orthodontics to further her knowledge in orthodontics. When Saurah isn’t at JRO she is at the beach or in the kitchen cooking!
Certified Orthodontic Assistant
Lauren is one of our Orthodontic Assistants here at JRO. She is not only CPR and X-ray certified, but also certified through the American Association of Orthodontics. Lauren has attended The Chesterfield Technical Center for Dental Assisting prior to joining the JRO family, and has found her passion for orthodontics and helping people achieve their smiles’ full potential here at JRO. When she is away from work you will find her on the water fishing, or spending time with her family and their many animals.
Makenzie is our Records Coordinator. She has found her passion in orthodontics at JRO helping to create reasons to smile in every patient’s day! Makenzie moved to Richmond from Missouri about a year ago to be with her husband, Zach. When she is away from work, Makenzie loves to spend time in the kitchen cooking with her husband, traveling around the states to visit friends and family and exploring all that Richmond has to offer! Makenzie is x-ray and OSHA certified.
New-Patient Coordinator & Financial Coordinator
Meagen is our New Patient Coordinator: she is the first person you will meet when you come to JRO! She has worked in the dental industry for four years and has enjoyed the opportunity to grow and learn new things.
Lynn is a clinical assistant at JRO. She has 20 plus years of experience. She is x-ray and CPR certified as well as a Certified Orthodontic Assistant through the American Association of Orthodontics. She has two sons and enjoys spending time with her husband and family.
Certified Orthodontic Assistant
Lisa is our office manager, she joined the JRO team with over 5 years experience working in an orthodontic office. Lisa recently moved to Richmond with her husband, Tom. When away from work she loves spending time with her husband and two children exploring all that RVA has to offer. She takes advantage of every opportunity she can to walk and discover neighborhood restaurants and shops in and around the the Fan and Museum District
New Patient Coordinator
Rachel is our New Patient Coordinator. One of her favorite things about being a part of the JRO team is creating a memorable experience for our new patients. She was born and raised in Richmond and she loves finding new ways to experience the outdoors in Virginia. When she is away from the office she loves to be with her son, Jax, having a great time being outside! Rachel is OSHA certified.
